If you are intersted in buying computers, notebooks, cameras or any other IT accessory, Pantip plaza should be your first stop. This plaza contains a wide range of products - almost everything under the sun whether or not officially launched in Thailand!
You can go to Pantip plaza by BTS (walk down from Rachathewi station) or by car/taxi (It is located on Petchburi Road).
The Plaza has 2 big shops Data IT (1st floor) and IT City (5th floor) and lots of many smaller shops. The bigger shops have fixed price and there is no bargaining to be done. However, the small shops will bargain to a small extent specially if you tell them you will pay by cash and not credit card.
Beware of some small shops(especially on the ground floor) as they may be selling fakes.
Only Thai Baht is accepted in these shops. USD or any other currency won't work. Many Currency Exchanges are also located at a stone's throw from the Plaza. All shops will either provide you with a VAT refund form or not charge you VAT at all.
Note that Pantip Plaza is prounced more like Paanthip Plaza
