cr2July 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) What happens when a group of people dressed as Zombies witness their own car crash? The result is confusion among the rescuers. This surprising incident happened on Friday, July 9 around 9:30 p.m. on Interstate 84 near downtown Portland where a car crashed and the rescuers thought that the riders were severely injured as they were all wearing loud zombie costumes and they mistook the victims’ “undead” costumes as the real ones. However, the victims suffered less injuries and they were all “alive”.

The Portland Police Department said that the car swerved through the Eastbound lanes before rolling over and coming to a rest upside down in the middle of the freeway. The local news channel reported that the victims were taken to the hospital with only minor injuries but their zombie costumes made it appear that they suffered life threatening injuries. The accident however reduced traffic to one lane for about an hour.

The Sgt. Greg Stewart said that they were glad that everyone was alive and he jokingly said that “despite being ‘undead’” as he referred to their costumes. There were about five people in the car who were taken to the hospital but the police thinks that more people were in the car who fled the scene on foot to avoid consequences. This surprising event has recently become the talk of the town as the rescue workers initially got a little freaked out when they saw the car crashing and then went to save the victims. The Police said that those five men were heading for a party that night.
