Young Aston Villa mascot mimics Suarez snub
February 14th, 2012 - 10:36 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, Feb 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A young Aston Villa mascot gave the strong evidence why children should be protected from bad examples. In a clear reenactment of Luiz Suarez’s snub of Patrice Evra during the clash between Liverpool and Manchester United, the young Aston Villa mascot clearly and deliberately avoided the stretched hand of his Manchester City counterpart when the two sides met.
The incident has shocked many soccer enthusiasts who are wondering if the boy decided to copy the example by the Uruguayan international. Liverpool and the player have issued an apology after the incident.
Clearly concerned about the action of the young mascot, the British newspaper Daily Mail asked the following questions, “A sad indictment of young football fans in this country today? Further evidence of the decay of British society as manners become a distant memory? Or just two young lads who fluffed their lines? An etiquette faux-pas born of nerves, not of malice. We’re sure you know the answer.”
It is not clear if the league governing body, the EPL, will take any action on the issue. This trend is truly a disturbing one and the officials will surely address it to protect the image of the “world’s most beautiful game.”
