Yegor Gaidar Dies At The Age Of 53

gaidarDec.16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The eminent economist and politician of Russia, Yegor Gaidar, died at the age of 53 years. According to the reports, he passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at his residence in Moscow. The unexpected death of Yegor Gaidar has shocked the world. Sources indicated that it was a blood clot had led to the death of Yegor Gaidar. Other information related to his death are yet to surface.

Valery Natarov, who worked as an aide to the Yegor Gaidar, expressed his sorrow and said that he had started to work on a new book before his death. However, he did not provide any information about how much progress he made with the works of the book or whether the book would be published.

The late Yegor Gaidar had helped Russia with some effective economic strategies when the country was experiencing a transitional phase, from communism to establish capitalism. He had also played a significant role in forming the ’shock therapy.’ He had been the Prime Minister of the country for a short period of time, stretching from June 1992 to December 1992. In this short tenure as the Prime Minister, he had adopted measures to support the economic reforms of the country by following the ’shock therapy’.

Late Yegor Gaidar had also served the post of First Vice-Premier and Economics Minister during the administration of Boris Yeltsin. He had also become the Finance Minister of the country and made some brilliant economic reforms. Yegor Gaidar was best known for his act of abolishing price controls to bring the end to the inadequacy of food as well as other necessary products.
