Wyclef Jean may run in the elections to be Haiti’s next President

haiti Port-au-Prince, July 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) It looks like Wyclef Jean is all is set to be Haiti’s First citizen as he is planning to run for the post of the President of the earthquake-hit Caribbean nation. Many reliable sources indicate the rapper and producer who has won many awards is seriously thinking about going for president in the upcoming presidential elections, which are set to be held in November 2010.

Many Haitians are increasingly talking about the issue after the musician’s family sources confirmed the speculations that he may be running for the highest office in the country.

The statement said the musician was fully committed to helping the nation and will always be there for the country whether as its leader or not. They also stated that once the musician made up his mind, the decision would be made public. Wyclef’s representatives have given credit to the family statement.

The musician said in an interview in recent times he wanted to participate in the country’s presidential elections whether as a candidate or not. Many believe that the 37-year-old rapper will indeed run for the position.

It ought to be mentioned that when the devastating earthquake struck Haiti, then rapper Wyclef Jean left no stone unturned to help the victims.
