Dec 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A week ago, the Americans were unaware of a term ‘Worm Grunting‘. However, today it has become one of the top-most searches on the web, courtesy of Gary Revell. Discovery featured a show called Dirty Jobs on its 9 PM slot on 22nd Dec. The show is hosted by Mike Rowe, who travels the country in search of people doing odd jobs, and this time the ‘dirty job’ was done by Gary Revell of the Apalachicola National Forest.
The man has been living in middle of the jungle for over 50 years doing nothing but collecting up earthworms which can ultimately be used as bait. According to him, the job runs in the family, since, his father and grandfather, all did the same thing. The worm-grunter aka Gary Revell, said that he was astonished when he received a call from the channel,
Mike Rowe, was taught the art by Gary, where he got down and dirty to catch some slimy earthworms. The documentary probably taught a lot of American citizens that worm-grunting is pretty easy and that it can be done by a lot of them too. To do the job, Gary Revell said, all he had to do was drive around in his vehicle and use the stob to dig 12 inches deep in the ground. The stob is just driven trough the mud. Then, the stake is pushed deeper and deeper in the mud. This apparently creates some vibrations which causes the slimy creatures to appear on the ground surface. The bad news is that sometimes only a couple of warms may come out but the good news is that sometimes a couple of hundreds of warms may come out.

Very poorly written story. There is a grammatical error and a typographical error in those three short paragraphs; not to mention a grammatical error in the “Hot Now” section also. Tells me about not only the quality of the editing but the quality of the news reporting too.
