tallest-tower-burj-khalifa Dubai, Apr 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The tallest tower in the world – Burj Khalifa opened for the second time around. Its inauguration happened around 2 months ago, but it had to close in February, because there was an elevator malfunction, because of which visitors at the inauguration were trapped in the tower, more than 120 stories above the ground level. The elevator was stuck between 2 floors for almost an hour. Finally the people could be rescued when the rescue personnel used a ladder to get them out of the trapped elevator. Even though there have been 2 months since the incident, but the investigation has failed to find out the cause behind the elevator incident.

It may be recalled that His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai had inaugurated the world’s tallest skyscraper in early January. He also named the tower as Burj Khalifa Bin Zayed.

When the Burj Khalifa reopened then many tourists wanted to check out the tower. They bought tickets to see the observation deck, which is located on the 124th floor.

Dubai is showcasing the tower when it is itself wrapped up in the midst of a deep financial crisis. It has obtained financial help from its oil rich neighbor Abu Dhabi, who has given billions of dollars in bailout funds into the struggling nation, as it tries hard to pay its debts.
