shortest man BOGOTA, COLOMBIA (BNO NEWS) — A Colombian on Monday was confirmed as the world’s shortest man, measuring 70 centimeters (27 inches) tall.

Edward Niño Hernandez, 24, who has not grown since he was 2 years old and has 4 younger siblings, was officially certified by the Guinness World Records on Monday.

Hernandez was registered 1.5 inches shorter than the previous title holder, He Pingping, a Chinese man who died last March.

However, Khagendra Thapa Magar of Nepal, who measures 56 centimeters (22 inches) and is registered as the world’s shortest teen, turns 18 in October, and could take Hernandez’ place.
