Riverside, May 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A World War 11-era practice bomb was found at the back yard of a Californian house. Maintenance crew members were working at the yard when they discovered the bomb. The police were called in to take control of the situation.

The device was found on Tuesday at 7:45 am. The whole area was blocked for about an hour from the public. The officers say they realized after close examination that the device was a practice bomb which was dropped during an aerial practice. The officers failed to determine how long the device has been at the compound.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the bomb squad was called to the location and the place was sealed off from the public. After about an hour, the device was identified and the public allowed to the place.

The police later released a statement on the incident. The statement said that, “The device was found to be an inert World War II-era … aerial practice bomb. The length of time the device was abandoned at the residence is unknown.”

The United States which was initially not part of the Second World War played a crucial role in determining how the war ended.
