August 7, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): A brawl initiated in the grounds of the Puesta del Sol Elementary where parents had gathered to witness the kindergarten graduation ceremony of their young children. It started as an argument between two women over a comment on the social networking site, Facebook.

The two women got into a heated argument which turned physical as their husbands got involved eventually. Other people including some school authorities joined in the fray before too long and created a huge fracas.

The California kindergarten located in Victorville, Califf was put on lockdown with no one being allowed to enter or leave until the law enforcement authorities arrived. The women who were identified as Queiona Burt, 31 and Marina Ruth, 29 were charged with misdemeanor by the police.

Although there were no reports of causality in the incident, the two accused could face a stiff sentence of 6 months in jail as they were responsible for disrupting the peace of the school. Starting a fight within the school compound will also be considered during the hearing of the case which makes the prosecutors feel that they have a very strong case against all those who were involved. The later offense could mean an additional three months of jail time, if proved. The incident was reported by the Associated Press.

The Bernardino County police are currently investigating the matter according to the CBS News. The so called ‘kindergarten brawl’ has surprised many as parents are normally known to fight while trying to get their kids admitted to exclusive pre-schools and kindergartens. But fighting literally while taking your children away from the kindergarten is a novelty for sure.
