Daytona Beach, Nov 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Children are seen as gifts from God and some women will rather die than see their child harmed. That though was not the case for 45-year-old Patty Bigbee. Patty allegedly offered her infant grandson for sale. The woman has been arrested with her boyfriend, Lawrence Works for the offence.

Their “evil” plot was unraveled by undercover agents who posed as potential buyers. Authorities revealed that a member of the public hinted them of the plot to sell the baby. Officers then allowed an agent to pose as a potential buyer and eventually the couple offered to sell the baby for $75,000 to them. When the officer bargained with them, they accepted to part ways with the baby for $30,000.

The couple agreed to meet the undercover agent at the Daytona Beach and sell the baby. They were however arrested and charged with illegal sale or surrender of a child. In addition to that charge, Patty has been charged with communication fraud. The mother of the baby is currently serving a jail term with an offence that is not connected to the sale of the baby.

Authorities have given the baby to child welfare officials to care for it.
