The artwork which is 14-foot long and 4-foot tall was purchased at an undisclosed fee. Laura used several towels with different colours to achieve the piece. She explained further that she was inspired by other lint artwork to come up with her own work.
After the project, Laura revealed that several people got interested in the project. She indicated that the artwork had different meaning to different people.
She said that, “For some people, it’s a very spiritual experience. Others are simply amazed at what someone could do with basic laundry lint.”
The vice president of Exhibits and Archives at Ripley, Edward Meyer told reporters that the art piece was the biggest artwork of lint that the art center has seen. Ripley was the institute that bought the piece and Meyer indicated that it was because of the uniqueness of the craft that they decided to add it to their collection.
