msn_hotmail4001Feb 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Whenever any service or software developed by Microsoft develops a snag, it ends up affecting millions of users all over the world. The users of the Redmond based Software giant’s popular Hotmail Email service (now rechristened as Windows live mail) faced a problem on Tuesday. According to the latest reports, the Windows live Mail users who tried to log in to their personal mail accounts failed to do so. Instead, they were greeted by an annoying “service unavailable” message. This made a number of Hotmail users confused. Some of them even thought this could be a new type of Trojan or virus attack.

Luckily for Microsoft, the problem did not last for a long time. A lot of people were possibly busy in celebrating Fat Tuesday and did not get the time to check mails. The users who noticed the problem started blogging about it and posting in the online forums. As one can expect, Microsoft did not waste much time and started the diagnosis. The problem was found to be related with Windows identification service. Once the problem was identified the Microsoft team working on it fixed it promptly. That explains why the Hotmail service was back within a few hours.

Later MSNBC issued a formal statement that clarified the Windows live mail issue It acknowledged that the Live Mail accounts could not be accessed by some users in the morning of Tuesday. However, the fault was detected and rectified fast. Microsoft also asked for apology from the Hotmail service users for the inconvenience faced by them.
