Willy Wonka Gum May Soon Become A Reality
October 13th, 2010 - 7:53 pm ICT by Pen Men At WorkOctober 13, 2010(Pen Men at Work): anyone who has watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory as a kid will surely remember some of the delectable delights available at the factory. Perhaps one of the most surprising candy was the three-course meal gum, which was under research by Willy Wonka himself. In the book Violet Beauregarde snatched the bubble gum from Willy and started chewing it, which made her turn blue like a blueberry.
Seems like the Three-course meal gum may soon become a matter of reality for the Willy Wonka lovers. Recently scientists in Norwich England created the microcapsule technology that will deliver the drugs in small packets to different parts of the body. Teams of scientist from USA have come up with an idea to use this technology for the three course meal gum.
Physics professor Tony Dinsmore form the University of Massachusetts has invented a technique that will capture molecules of certain flavors inside the microcapsules. These microcapsules, once consumed will release the different flavors at during different times of the day. according to the team of scientists, the tomato soup flavor will be released as soon as saliva comes in contact with the gum. At the end of the meal users will be able to experience the Blueberry pie flavor. The capsule is likely to have roast beef flavor in it as well.
Professor Dave hart from Institute of Flood research said that Willy Wonka’s fantasy concoction is finally going to become an object of reality. Scientists believe that nano-particles might be the future of food technology. It remains to be seen if a candy company takes up the three-course gourmet gum idea.
