White House says monitoring situation in Chile

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) — The White House on Saturday said it is monitoring the situation in Chile after a 8.8-magnitude earthquake killed at least 100 people there.
“We are closely monitoring the situation, including the potential for a tsunami,” said White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Chile, and we stand ready to help in this hour of need.”
