White House Intern Molly Swenson American Idol Tryout

Jan 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Before the performance by Molly DeWolf Swenson, she informed Randy Jackson that he had “kinda” punched her in the mouth as he was greeting the contestants in the room. Apparently Randy had ran down the isle, “high-fiving” everyone, and accidentally hit Molly. That story was how the Harvard grad chose to break the ice for her interview, adding, “I hope you don’t add insult to injury.”

Molly’s next move was a smooth name dropping revelation which made everyone wonder why she was even on the show. This is not the typical, “Ohhhh singing is my life, this is all I ever wanted to do, please don’t send me home,” type contestant. Molly already has a college education, and apparently a very good career already forming, as we see when she lets it slip that she was a White House Intern.

“I’m in love with this president!” she said enthusiastically. “Not in the Monica Lewinsky, Bill Clinton sort of way,” she adds. “Just platonic way.”

Incidentally, when she went on to sing “On the Dock of the Bay” she did a very good job, and was given a ticket to Hollywood. She is not listed in the American Idol Top 40 for 2011.
