What’s Closed On Columbus Day? What’s Open?

Oct 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Columbus Day is the day set aside by Americans to celebrate the arrival of Christopher Columbus into the America’s on October 12, 1492. It has been set on the second Monday in October since 1971, which is also Canada’s Thanksgiving Day. Many businesses stay open, but many are closed on the National Holiday in the United States.

Retail stores, Liquor stores, supermarkets, convenience stores, and bars are all open for business, and making money while many are shopping while off work. Banks, municipal, state, and federal offices are closed, as well as libraries and most schools, while the post office is only doing express delivery.

The stock market will stay open, as will most public transport.
