West Memphis Police Takes Down Suspects In Walmart Parking Lot

West Memphis, May 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Thursday Morning witnessed a series of bloody encounter as two police officers; Bill Evans and Brandon Paudert were shot to dead by two men carrying AK 47. The two Memphis police officers were killed near the I-40 Airport Road. The suspects escaped the scene of crime after the two officers collapsed on the ground.
Following the incident, the cops went ahead to shut down the I-40 AND I-55 portion. They carried on an extensive search from each and every car that was parked looking for a trail on the suspects. It was during the afternoon when the two suspects were taken down in a shootout at the Arkansas Walmart parking lot. During the encounter, two deputies of the Crittenden County sheriff were wounded and were carried away for an immediate treatment. There has been no word on their current medical condition.
Brandon Paudert; one of the dead officers happens to be the son of the sheriff Chief Bob Paudert who was himself present during the shootout. The chief told the media that his son and Bill Evans both were efficient officers of the Drug Interdiction unit of Crittenden and had stopped a vehicle that had a Ohio license plate on it. The shooting started right after the vehicle was pulled over as both Bill Evans and Brandon Paudert approached the vehicle. Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe expressed his condolences to Chief Bob Paudert and said that the state is proud to have sons like Brandon Paudert and his name shall always hold a special place in the heart of the Arkansas people one all alike.
