Waterloo, NY man charged after allegedly stealing scrap metal

WATERLOO, NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) — A Waterloo, New York man on Tuesday was charged after allegedly stealing scrap metal, prosecutors said.

Timothy P. Ryan, 28, was observed by a Trooper stealing scrap metal from the former Snooks Greenhouses on Brewer Road in the Town of Waterloo and was immediately taken into custody. Ryan was further charged with possessing stolen property, consisting of scrap metal, which had been reported as stolen from the Finger Lakes Railway as well as from the former Seneca Army Depot Property in Romulus, on different dates, as the result of separate investigations.

Ryan was charged with one count of Petit Larceny, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree.

He was arraigned in the Town of Waterloo Court upon the above charges and placed in the Seneca County Correctional Facility upon $2500 cash, $5000 bond bail. A return date to the court for Ryan is yet to be determined.
