Virginia, Nov 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The infamous Washington sniper John Allen Muhammad died silently on Tuesday night in a Virginia prison death chamber filled with lawyers, lawmen and his victims’ survivors. He died from the effects of a lethal death injection.

‘He was declared dead at 9:11 p.m. ET’, said Larry Traylor, director of communications for the Virginia Department of Corrections. “There were no complications,” Traylor told reporters outside the Greenville Correctional Center. “Mr. Mohammad was asked if he wished to make a last statement. He did not acknowledge this or make a last statement whatsoever.”

Three days after his father’s execution, the 27-year-old son of John Allen Muhammad, Lindbergh Williams, said on Friday that he doesn’t want to be judged by the crimes of a father he didn’t really know until the shooting spree.

Striking an almost defensive chord, Lindbergh Williams told the media reporters, “I am the son of the D.C. sniper, but not him. You see what I’m saying? I am my own man and make my own decisions.”

“I didn’t go to Virginia to talk about the case. I went to Virginia to talk to the man that I knew as my father, for the last time,” Williams said. “I didn’t go down there to talk to the D.C. sniper. I went down there to talk to John Allen Muhammad.”
