Warren Jeffs fires his lawyers again
July 29th, 2011 - 12:34 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattSan Angelo, July 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Warren Jeffs has fired his legal team and now wants to defend himself in his own way, in the court. Apparently he felt that his legal team didn’t fully understand his sexual assault case and neither were they sure about the truth. So he felt that they were not competent enough to defend him, Jeffs fired his legal team. And apparently Jeffs is a hard task master because in the past too, he has fired his legal team as he wasn’t satisfied with them.
Jeffs said that, “I have released all of my counsel. I desire to represent myself.” He also added that his defense team”did not have a full understanding of the facts” or “comprehend the truth of this case. In a nation that professes true justice. My release of counsel has been with great thought. I stand before this court presenting this need for truth to be presented. Without this opportunity, I would be limited in my defense.”
Jeffs also said to the court that though he had fired his legal team yet he needed a lawyer because he needed someone to help him through the fine print of the various laws and charges that are slapped against him.
