bedbugs-drabicki-003Nov 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) For Plymouth Couple David Drabicki and Christine Drabicki a stay at the well known Waldorf Astoria of New York turned out to be a nightmarish experience. The couple were haunted by bedbugs which spoilt their night and happiness. They later sued the posh hotel over the issue. Alan Schnurman the attorney of the couple said that they were selected by Allstate Insurance the company where David Drabicki works in for a conference in May. They checked in at the hotel on May 27th which proved to be the night of their ordeal.

They woke up in the morning next day with bedbug bites over their body and blood marks which made them angry and panic stricken. The worse thing is that even after their room was changed the tiny insects did not stop haunting them. They crept in their luggage and when they came home they discovered the fact to their dismay and shock. They found bite marks on the body of their daughters at home. The suit filed by their lawyers says the hotel management showed “negligence, carelessness and recklessness” on their part. The lawyer also said the family had to stay out of their house for more than a month and their home had to be fumigated by exterminators.

The Hotel officials said “While we typically do not comment on pending litigation, we will share that the hotel took the guestroom in question out of service and had it inspected by an outside specialist. The official inspection reports stated there was no evidence or indication of bedbugs”. The lawyer said that Waldorf Astoria faced similar lawsuits earlier twice.
