3362613London, Feb 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Noted British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, who is known for her colorful dresses and orange hair, has recently expressed her opinion that people should not buy too much clothes. She thinks buying excess clothes is not good for us. She has a whacky sense of humor and this has brought her in the spotlight quite often. Vivienne Westwood has never tried to hide her concern for environment but it is her loud and eccentric sense of fashion that gets highlighted quite often. When she made an appeal to the Londoners to refrain from buying too much of clothes, many were taken by surprise. Her lineup of clothes is generally costly and not everyone can afford them. A fashion designer generally does not urge people to stop buying clothes as she did.

Some people concluded that she had made the statement on BBC radio to maintain her commitment to the climate change campaign of London. A number of showbiz people like actress Emma Thompson and model Laura Bailey have also expressed their concern for the cause. The fashion designer also said that people should buy quality clothes rather than concentrating on quantity. She showed her exclusive Red Label collection a few days back in London and in March she will unveil her self-named collection in Paris.

No matter what her detractors may say, the fashion queen has a heart for the social causes. She teamed up recently with noted model Naomi Campbell to raise funds for the hapless victims of the Haiti Quake. She praised the supermodel in lavish words as well.
