Dec 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It turned to be a nightmare for the families who had recently gone to visit the Whitworth Hall Country Park, located near County Durham. The families had turned up on the venue as a part of the holiday season celebration where they wanted the children to enjoy to the fullest. Instead what they saw was sheer horror. Bodies of dead stags appeared through the icy ground. With extreme weather conditions wrecking a havoc, the lake turned into the death trap for the animals.
The ground along with the lake at the Whitworth Hall Country Park has frozen. According to reports, till now around eight deer and stags have drowned. The condition is such that the park employees have not yet been able to take the dead bodies out of the frozen lake. Anxious guardians of the children who saw the disturbing sight said that it was not right for the park officials to let the matter be like this as it does have an affect on the minds of the children when they see the dead animals.
However, a guardian who was present at the spot said that they were lucky that the dead bodies were not easily predictable since they were not near to the visitor’s point. Thankfully, a herd of the ones which are alive wandered about and the children derived their joy out of them. Park officials chose not to make any comment on this issue. However, manager Alan Lax added that they had put hay bales and food to keep the animals away from the lake but it all went in vain.
