Violence In Iran Not Stopped Even After Neda Agah Soltan Tragedy

It seems that chaos, disorder and violence are the dominant rulers in Iran from the time the country embarked on the anti-government protest. The violent revolution erupted demanding the government to step down and re-election to be held since the opposition parties cried hoarse that the election was rigged. What has shocked the world, is the violent video of the young woman, Neda Agah Soltan, who had been shot in the chest and died, while attending a protest rally.
Born to a middle class Iranian family, her father is in the government service and mother is a housewife. Neda was known to be a woman strongly rooted in the Islamic and Iranian traditional values. She was pursuing a career in tourism and had studied Islamic philosophy at Tehran Azad University.
The Ayotollah backed government is trying to garb the Neda Soltan tragedy by all possible means, to restrict Neda from getting a national martyr image. Even Neda’s grief ridden family has not been spared. According to neighbors, the family was said to be pressured by the government to leave their house and go elsewhere. However, it seems that the Neda’s story has affected the whole world; USA President Barrack Obama has declared Neda Soltan to be a symbol of courage.
Till now the government has not been able to curtail the revolution that has already claimed more than 20 lives.
With powerful reactions pouring in from across the globe, condemning the Neda tragedy, it seems that the incident is going to put the Iranian government into a worse position than before.
