Haiti Earthquake pictures Port-au-Prince, Jan 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Haiti was rocked by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake on last Tuesday. USA was one of the first nations to come forward and help the ravaged region. The LA County officials also came to Haiti and were involved in the rescue efforts. The valiant officials helped a lot and were also instrumental in saving the lives of many of the earthquake victims by their timely efforts.

In the accompanying video, the LA County officials are trying to rescue a poor hapless woman who is trapped under the rubble of the buildings. She seems to be in a very bad shape and the LA County officials spend hours hunting for her, and also clearing the rubble as they try to rescue her. After a lot of effort, as they bring her out in the open, the crowd starts to applaud their efforts and starts shouting “USA, USA…” incessantly.

The death toll in last Tuesday’s earthquake in Haiti is rising every day. Authorities in Haiti now estimate 200,000 people have been killed by last week’s earthquake. And these sad figures make the natural calamity as the worst ever in recent times. Besides this, around 1.5 million people are still homeless and struggling for the basic necessities of every day life. Many of the homeless are also going out of the capital Port-au-Prince in search of food and necessities.
