Blessing phones London, Jan 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The church is moving with the times and it has now started blessing the electronic gadgets like mobile phones and laptops. The short blessing ceremony happened during Monday’s services at the Christopher Wren-designed building. This is the official church of the Corporation of the City of London, which runs the capital’s financial district.

The Rev Canon David Parrott blessed a stack of laptops and smart phones on the altar of London’s 17th-century St Lawrence Jewry church. He elaborated that this was an effort to remind the busy people that the God’s blessings and grace can reach them in many different ways. “It’s the technology that is our daily working tool, and it’s a technology we should bless,” Rev Parrott said. He also said that since the technology is our daily running tool so it should also be blessed.

Asking his congregation to hold their smartphones above their heads, the Vicar intoned to the Ultimate Power: “By your blessing, may these phones and computers, symbols of all the technology and communication in our daily lives, be a reminder to us that you are a God who communicates with us and who speaks by your Word.”
