vibThe Vibram FiveFingers shoe line promises to grant an inherent wish that quite a lot of people cherish: of walking barefoot. The line has taken inspiration from this inherent desire that is cherished by many, professional runners as well as others. The shoe sits on the feet like a second skin and yes, at times makes one forget that they are wearing a pair at all. In fact, they even promise to usurp the niche that has been created by the endearing flip flops in our comfort shoe collections.

The innovative footwear line doesn’t make it uncomfortable from within, providing ample space and room for each toes. This is one factor which does not make one feel that they have out on a shoe.

The Fivefingers and other similar products treading in the same line from companies like Feelmax and Terra Plana, have taken it upon them to bring about a change in the way of footwear.

Their foray in to the market has already posed a question to the prevalent, orthodox running shoes of really being of any aid to runners. The newly launched designs sport a thin sole lay combined with all protection, to enhance the experience of walking for all.

If they prove to be a hit among the majority, the collection poses a direct threat to the widely prevalent $17 billion sports shoe market. Already a few feathers are said to have been ruffled and the sports shoe industry vehemently play down all studies that point fingers at it being unable to meet standards.
