Veteran Journalist Daniel Schorr Dies At 93

Washington, July 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Veteran journalist Daniel Schorr passed away on Friday morning at a medical facility in Washington. The highly acclaimed broadcast journalist who was 93 years of age at the time of his demise, breathed his last at the Georgetown University Hospital. Although it has been revealed that Daniel Schorr was surrounded by members of his family during the last moments of his life, any information about the cause of his death has not been made public as yet.
The news of the legendary broadcast journalist’s demise has been confirmed by the National Public Radio with which Daniel Schorr was associated for the past 25 years of his illustrious career. The veteran journalist is well-recognized as the one of the few handful of reporters who were known for their vivid knowledge of newsmakers starting from the 1950’s and spanning to present decade. Over the years, Daniel Schorr gained widespread acclaim as the reporter who broke major national stories in his career of 60 years. One of the first major milestone in his career came way back in 1953 when he was recruited by Edward R. Murrow for CBS while his first televised interview turned out to be the one with Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev. His association with CBS lasted for about 23 years prior to his departure from the network amidst controversy.
The veteran broadcast reporter then went on to join CNN where he worked for many years until 1985 when he became a part of National Public Radio as a senior news analyst. Daniel Schorr would always be remembered in the news world for his wide wisdom and experience in the field of journalism.
