Vero Beach, FL man arrested for burglary

VERO BEACH, FLORIDA (BNO NEWS) – A Vero Beach, Florida man was arrested on Friday for residential burglary, the Vero Beach Police Department informed.

Thomas W. Mackenzie III, 42, was stopped by a police officer while he was riding a bicycle without the required nighttime lights. After searching him, the policeman found that Mackenzie was in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Moments later, the Vero Beach Police Department received a call from a woman that reported a residential burglary that happened moments before. She said she discovered a man in her bedroom that fled with a small amount of cash and her cellphone. She provided police officers with a description of the suspect.

The description matched with the man on the bicycle. The victim positively identified him and Mackenzie was arrested for burglary of an occupied dwelling and possession of drug paraphernalia.
