Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, Embraces Twitter

April 28, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The socialist Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, has begun to utilize Twitter to argue against his detractors online. This decision has compelled the President, who often communicates for hours, to encapsulate each thought of his in 140 characters or less.

Chavez has recommended the Venezuelans to gaze at his recently generated account — @chavezcandanga.

His first tweet in Spanish came up14 minutes subsequent to midnight after Tuesday: The tweet stated, “Hey, how is it going? I appeared like I said I would: at midnight. I am off to Brazil. And very happy to work for Venezuela. We will be victorious!!”

By late Tuesday, the socialist chief had in excess of 18,000 devotees before positioning a solitary tweet, and that number heightened to more than 23,000 early on Wednesday.

A close adviser to Chavez, Public Works Minister Diosdado Cabello, enunciated that a Twitter account had been created for the president. Chavez has mentioned that he has a squad functioning on it.
