President Hugo Chavez has recently declared that the country would be providing an aid of 100 million dollars to the disaster hit nation to provide an impetus to the rehabilitation work that is being undertaken in Haiti.

It has been stated that the 100 million dollar fund would be mainly used for building the houses for the victims as well as improving the agricultural scenario in the nation. At the same time, the aid would also be instrumental in repairing hospitals and re-building the schools which have been completely destroyed owing to the severe earthquake that the nation witnessed on January 12. While announcing the allotment of the funds, President Hugo Chavez said in a televised speech that 100 million dollars was a meager amount if the magnitude of the natural calamity is taken into consideration, but it would be important to accentuate the rehabilitation efforts.
