The earthquake which came upon with great trembles occurred at around 5:59 p.m. on Thursday. Randolph located just a few miles away from the Wyoming-Utah divider was the first place where the tremor was noted. Geologists have concluded that this is the biggest earthquake to have shaken the boundaries of Utah in many years.

Relu Burlacu, a Utah University seismologist reported that the earthquake caused only minor damages and wasn’t as devastating as of the recent shakes which took a heavy toll of life in China just a few days back. Reportedly, the only other earthquake experienced by Utah was in St.George which had 5.9 reading on the Richter scale way back in the year of 1992.

The Utah earthquakes lasted only for a few minutes but managed to crash and topple all wall hangings in side houses and causing other minor damages beside dis-balancing people on the ground. Even the other residents of Salt Lake City told the media that they were also able to witness the tremors although it was concentrated around Utah only. Colburn William, a resident of Logan told the media that he first experienced the tremor while watching TV although he was seated in his house about 35 miles away from the affected place. Following the earthquake, many people have called the sheriff’s office in Rich County. When asked about it, the Sheriff said that although many calls came in after the earthquake no one reported any serious damages.
