USAA Foundation Donates $70,000 To Revamp Farias Park

Texas, Mar 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A clean Farias Park of San Antonio, Texas, is the gift that the children received from the USAA Foundation. The Foundation has reportedly collaborated with San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department to revamp the park that had been abandoned by children due to its poor condition. According to reports 700 volunteers worked to develop the condition of the park. The volunteers cleaned the park, painted the walls and also did fix up playing equipments for the children. The USAA Foundation has reportedly given $70,000 for the development of the park which includes fund for buying new playing accessories.
The Foundations has reportedly said that the USAA employee wanted to give the children of San Antonio’s West side a clean place to play. According to Barbara Gentry, the president of the USAA Foundation, the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department had informed them about the dilapidated condition of the park and the Foundation then has collaborated with the department by providing financial assistance and volunteer service. Apart from Farias Park, the USAA Foundation is also working in many other projects related to children’s park development. The Foundation has also according to reports agreed to provide annual help to the department so that the Farias Park could be maintained.
The Mayor Julian Castro reportedly thanked the USAA Foundation for their collaboration and said that the revamped park proves that every thing is possible when the public and the private sector collaborate for a noble cause. He also thanked the members who have labored to get the park to its present condition. The Mayor reportedly said that the Farias Park is a ray of hope for the children.
