- KABUL (BNO NEWS) — One U.S. soldier on Friday died from wounds he sustained in an improvised explosive device (IED) detonation in eastern Afghanistan, officials said. It was not immediately clear when the service member was injured.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of this service member,” said Brigadier-General Eric Tremblay, a spokesman for the NATO-led ISAF alliance. “We will pursue our work to defeat the indiscriminate IED tactics used by the insurgents as they pose a significant threat to the Afghan population.”
