Nebraska, Oct 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a rather bizarre turn of events, Michal Preclik who was posted as a guard in a prison at Nebraska was actually found out to be a man wanted in a number of drug and fraud related cases in the Czech Republic. Interestingly, he was working in one of the most high security prisons of Nebraska.
Speculations are running high about how an international criminal was hired by the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution prison authorities in Nebraska. The prison authorities have however denied any discrepancy on their part and added that nothing suspicious came up when they reviewed Preclik’s profile before employing him.
Preclik had been working in the prison for almost an year now and two months back he had also been promoted to the post of corporal. The fact that he had a criminal record behind him, came up when his name was searched by the authorities on Google. The results showed that he was on Interpol’s most-wanted list. He was later arrested at the prison and necessary steps for deporting him back to his native country of Czech Republic have already been undertaken.
However, Preclik’s wife Kari Preclik has said in his defense, that her husband is innocent and she did not have any clue that he was a most wanted, with warrants issued against him. Whatever the case maybe, one thing is for sure that the state correctional department needs to thoroughly check its hiring techniques and services to ensure that such a blunder is not repeated in the future for the safety and security of the society in general.
