U.S. Presidential Delegation to travel to Bethlehem to attend Palestine Investment Conference
June 1st, 2010 - 10:20 pm ICT by BNO NewsWASHINGTON D.C. (BNO NEWS) – A U.S. Presidential Delegation will travel to Bethlehem to attend the Palestine Investment Conference from June 2 to 4, President Barack Obama announced on Tuesday.
The Presidential Delegation will be led by George Mitchell, Special Envoy for Middle East Peace. He will be joined by Neal Wolin, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury; Daniel Rubinstein, American Consul General in Jerusalem; Alonzo Fulgham, USAID Chief Operating Officer; Mara Rudman, Deputy Special Envoy for Middle East Peace; Dr. Ziad Asali, President and Founder of the American Task Force on Palestine; and Saed Nashef, General Partner, Middle East Venture Capital Fund.
The Palestine Investment Conference 2010 will be held under the patronage of President Mahmoud Abbas at the Convention Palace in Bethlehem. This conference aims to build the institutional, social and economic infrastructure that will underpin a viable Palestinian state and enhance the ability of Palestine’s citizens to prosper in parity with other nation states.
It will also demonstrate the Palestinian achievements in providing a secure and attractive investment environment, and exhibits the growing level of cooperation and partnership between the Palestinian private and public sectors in the national program of state building.
