Washington DC, Mar 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) US man David Headly has pleaded guilty on 12 counts of criminal activities. Amongst these 12 counts, the Mumbai bomb attack case is also included. In the Mumbai attack, around 166 people had been killed, and since then India has been pressing for the extradition of David Headly.
But now it seems unlikely that David would be extradited, as he has cut a deal with the American investigators. According to the deal, he would plead guilty and tell the investigators all the details that he knows of all the crimes, and in turn America won’t extradite him to India, Pakistan or even Denmark. The government of all these 3 nations want him, as he has committed heinous crimes against these nations.
“There are many more questions that we want to ask, much more information which we wish to get,” Indian Home Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram told the reporters. “I will continue to press for access to Headley in the sense that he will testify in a proceeding or subject himself to interrogation.”
However despite the deal, the Indian Government is trying their best to get him extradited, as they believe that they ought to have him, as he committed heinous crimes against the nation. However the American investigators now say that India can have full details about the case, and can even question David, but he can’t be extradited now, in lieu of the agreement.
