Florida, Dec 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The U.S. Coast Guard has successfully rescued a crew member who allegedly jumped from a Royal Caribbean ship early today as it was sailing into Miami.

According to the Coast Guard Petty Officer Barry Bena, one of the agency’s response boats caught sight of the 31-year-old crew member Robert Mado who was in the water about five miles off the Florida coast at around 6:15 AM this morning. This sighting was done about two hours after the agency first got a “man overboard” distress call from Royal Caribbean’s Majesty of the Seas.

“We pulled him out, and he was reported to be in okay condition,” said Bena. He later added that the crewmember Mado was subsequently taken to a fire rescue boat and then later taken to a Miami area hospital for evaluation.

Bena clarified that the Coast Guard has no clues about how the crewmember Mado turned up in the water in the first place, but it is suspected that he apparently jumped into the water.

“At approximately 4:30 a.m., crew members onboard Majesty of the Seas witnessed a crew member go overboard from the aft section of the ship,” the Royal Caribbean statement says. “The ship’s captain immediately turned the ship around, marked the position on the ship’s Global Positioning System (GPS) and alerted the Coast Guard.”

I just got off that same ship on Friday 12/04. There is no way you can FALL overboard, you have to jumpor be lifted and pushed.

As for the Captain, if it was Capt.Per ( his nickname)he is great and a nice guy.
