University of South Florida in Tampa on lockdown

- TAMPA, Florida (BNO NEWS) — A gunman was sighted on the campus of the University of South Florida in Tampa on Friday afternoon, school officials told BNO News.
“Reports of a gunman on campus in lot 2 near Bioscience building. Police enroute. Stay inside and lock doors. Avoid area,” a brief statement on its website read.
A spokeswoman for the University said the campus was on lockdown.
There were no immediate reports that shots had been fired.
