July 12, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): A car full of people on their way to a party crashed on the Interstate 84 on Friday night. The incident took place near Portland, Oregon. The passengers were all dressed up as zombies and looked like the ‘living dead’.

As reported by KGW-TV, the car occupied by revelers turned turtle while traveling along the highway. The police denied rumors of any other vehicle being involved in the accident. Consequently, it seems that the car swerved and lost control, turning completely upside down as it was found with its roof resting on the highway.

The accident victims were all taken to the nearest area hospital where they were given first aid and treated for minor injuries. There were no reports of casualties from the accident.

The eye witnesses were said to have been frightened by the deathly pallor and ghostly appearance of the occupants and thought that they had injured themselves gravely. The accident has now been termed as the ‘zombie crash’ and is providing much amusement all around.

The bystanders have also come up with conflicting stories of some of the injured zombies running away after the incident. The police are in the process of investigating the matter thoroughly.

Sergeant Stewart of the police says, “We are glad that they are all alive in spite of being undead.” This statement was a tongue-in-cheek reference to the loud costumes and gory make ups on the faces of the victims.

Another report describes the so called zombies as ‘cosplayers’ but their intent for dressing in this fashion is not clear as yet.
