May 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In what is being seen as a major reason for worry, the drug smugglers are peddling type of ultra pure heroine from Mexico to various states of the USA. The powerful heroin that has the power to kill unsuspecting users in a flash is available for as low as $10 per bag. In some cases the victims can fall prey to death even before they can take the syringe out of their veins. The heroin is also known as black tar and it is playing a role behind overdose deaths across the USA. Authorities are worried that the potency and low cost of the drug may make it spread among more users and it will make the death toll go up.
Heroin was usually associated with rock stars and music artists who led wayward lives in the 1970s. At that time it was imported from the Middle East and Asia and the substance was hardly 5 percent pure. The rest was filers like powdered milk, starch and sugar etc. That was not as dangerous as the pure form of the drug has proved to be. In the gray market up to 50 and 80 percent pure heroin is often found these days. Some of the victims die in their sleep with their body turned cold and bluish.
The drug can also be smoked and this is increasing its appeal among people who do not want to use needles for taking drugs. Unfortunately Heroin can metabolize in the human body pretty quickly and at times it becomes hard for the medical examiners to trace the cause of death.
