UK building collapse injures 11
January 3rd, 2010 - 9:24 pm ICT by BNO NewsSHREWSBURY, UNITED KINGDOM (BNO NEWS) — A building collapse in the British town of Shrewsbury on Sunday injured several people, officials said.
The collapse followed an explosion that happened around 11.25 a.m. local time, according to a spokesman for the West Mercia Police department.
Officials said two people sustained serious injuries in the collapse, while nine people were treated for minor injuries.
West Mercia said the cause of the blast is under investigation, and said it may have been caused by a gas leak.
