most expensive Christmas Tree Dubai, Dec 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) It is often said that everything in the United Arab Emirates is big. That might be very true because a hotel in the Arab state has unveiled what it describes as the world’s most expensive Christmas tree.

Ironically, the state is dominated by Muslims and so having the most expensive Christmas tree there does raise some questions.

The tree is 13 meters high and it is decorated with all sorts of precious metals including diamonds, sapphires and pearls. In all, the tree is decorated with about 181 costly stones. Most of the stones were made into jewelry which was designed by the local jewelers. The tree is valued at over $11 million.

The giant tree stands at the Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace hotel which is one of the most renowned hotel’s in the UAE.

The tree was unveiled this week and the authorities at the hotel are looking to the officials of the Guinness Book of World Records to recognize the tree as the most precious in the world.

The tree is located inside the hotel’s lobby and aside all those precious stones, the tree also has ball shaped ornaments, bows and other conventional Christmas tree decorations.
