Two West Virginia felons sentenced on firearms charges

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA (BNO NEWS) – Two West Virginia felons were sentenced on Thursday on two separate cases of firearm possession, prosecutors said.

Timothy Thomas, 36, of Morgantown, was sentenced to 36 months of imprisonment followed by 3 years of supervised release.

Thomas pleaded guilty on July 31, 2009, to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm in Westover.

Stacy Thompson, 33, of Marion County, was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison followed by 3 years of supervised release.

The defendant, also known as Stacey Thompson, pleaded guilty to one count of being a convicted felon and knowingly possessing a loaded firearm while on pretrial release in another criminal case on November 13, 2009, in Marion County.

Both felons are currently in federal custody.
