Two U.S. soldiers die in southern Afghanistan
January 19th, 2010 - 11:33 pm ICT by BNO NewsKABUL (BNO NEWS) — Two U.S. service members in Afghanistan died as a result of an improvised explosive device (IED) attack on Tuesday, NATO said.
A statement from the NATO-led ISAF alliance said the soldiers were from the United States and died from their wounds after the attack in southern Afghanistan. No other details were immediately released.
The casualties bring the number of U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan this year to 18.
The identities of the soldiers will be announced by the U.S. Department of Defense no earlier than Wednesday.
