Two U.S. soldiers die in southern Afghanistan
January 24th, 2010 - 12:32 am ICT by BNO NewsKABUL (BNO NEWS) — Two U.S. soldiers died as a result of an improvised explosive device (IED) strike in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, NATO said.
A statement from the NATO-led ISAF alliance said the attack happened in southern Afghanistan, but provided no other details.
The casualties bring the number of U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan this year to 21.
The identities of the soldiers will be announced by the U.S. Department of Defense not earlier than Sunday.
