The divers John Dickinson and Chip Garber were touched when they saw the suffering nurse shark on the ocean floor. They didn’t think about their own safety, and wanted to help the shark by taking out the Frisbee from its neck so that the shark could start eating again.
John Dickinson and Chip Garber were diving on a wreck off Palm Beach named as the ‘The Princess Ann’ when they spotted the shark in trouble. “We thought the shark was dead, however after pulling her tail she began to swim away,” John Dickinson said. When they realized that the shark was alive, and could also survive, if the Frisbee was removed from its neck, then they decided to help her. As proof of the courageous episode they also videotaped the rescue attempt.
Chip Garber approached the shark from behind, and skillfully removed the Frisbee from its neck, without hurting himself in any way too. Now both the divers hope that the shark would get its appetite back, and start eating again, and then recover her health. “You can tell in the video that the shark had lost a lot of weight. Hopefully the shark will begin eating again and live a long healthy life,” Dickinson said.
