Two females, aged 20 and 21 respectively, died shortly after the local band Rafaga ended its performance at the private party. The floor of the VIP section of the place collapsed at 3:57 a.m. local time in the Palermo area of the capital city.
The victims were identified as Adriana Lizarraga, 20, and Leticia Provedo, 21. The two friends died while they were being transported to the Fernandez Hospital due to the wounds sustained. At least 25 individuals were injured too but all of them are in stable condition.
Officials said that the place was well conditioned and was recently inspected on September 5. This year, the bowling alley “Beara” was inspected nine times. Authorities believe that the collapse was caused due to a misuse of the facilities.
Preliminary reports indicate that initially around 300 people attended the concert but many of them left before the end of the musical performance which prevented a larger death toll. At the moment of the fatal incident, approximately 150 people were still in the alley.
The VIP floor was made of aluminum and wood. It was located at 10 meters from the ground. Firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene where they had a harsh endeavor removing the debris and rescuing people. The rescue efforts ended at 5:20 a.m. over two hours after the accident.
