Tulsa Community College’s Alternative Learning Program Benefits Students
October 27th, 2009 - 10:17 pm ICT by GD ( Leave a comment )Oklahoma, Oct 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In an absolutely new initiative, an alternative learning program known as Middle College High School was launched by the joint association of the Tulsa Community College and the Tulsa Public Schools which provided a unique learning opportunity to the students. This was announced at a recent press conference where it was also highlighted that the new program aims to enhance the educational opportunities in the north-east Oklahoma region. The initiative would supposedly accentuate the number of students enrolling in the college and at the same time would also facilitate increase in the graduation rates.
The Middle high School program would provide an one of its kind opportunity to the students as would would be given a comprehensive view of topics in the curriculum as well as subjects of interest to the students. However, this would be done keeping in mind the practical relevance of the subjects in the present scenario of the world around them. The Tulsa Public School has recently approved a number of alternative programs in improve the level of education for the young generation. Middle High School program is just one of them which is supposedly carried out at the cost of $160,000. Around 90 students applied for the program out of which 34 were selected after extensive interviews. The classes commenced from the month of September and the students are reportedly being hugely benefited from the program.
Tulsa Community College was established in the year 1970 to provide quality education to students in the city of Tulsa as well as the neighboring area. Presently, the college comprises of around 30,000 students and is one of the most prominent colleges in Oklahoma.
